Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministry

Job Summary

The Director of Children, Youth and Family for Calvary Lutheran Church will focus on faith formation for our Children (pre-K to 5th grade) and youth (from 6th through 12th grade). The goal of this ministry is to deepen the faith of youth, ignite a life-long passion for service and deepen their relationship with Christ. Working alongside families and volunteers, the Director will achieve this by planning and teaching Sunday School, engaging youth, leading activities that foster faith including confirmation programming, youth retreats and mission trips, and local service opportunities as well as assist with fundraising efforts to support youth programs and initiatives.

Education, Experience, Skills and Qualities

Applicants should have or be working towards a bachelor's degree, have a strong connection to youth, be well organized and have strong communication skills, verbal and written. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Experience leading teams of youth, engaging youth in faith development and attracting cross-generational volunteers would be highly valued. A talent for involving youth through music would be beneficial but not required. A full list of job responsibilities is available on request.
